This bill prohibits civilians from purchasing, owning, or possessing enhanced body armor, defined as armor meeting or exceeding RF1 ballistic performance standards. Exceptions are provided for federal, state, and tribal government agencies, law enforcement officers (including retired officers and corrections officers), and armor lawfully possessed before the law takes effect. Violations carry penalties of up to 5 years imprisonment and/or fines.
