This bill requires institutions of higher education that mandated COVID-19 vaccination for attendance to pay medical costs for students who were subsequently diagnosed with specified diseases (myocarditis, pericarditis, thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, or other diseases the Secretary of Education determines have a positive association with the COVID-19 vaccine). Students must submit requests with vaccination records, medical certification of diagnosis, and supporting documentation; institutions have 30 days to approve or request additional information. Institutions that fail to comply lose eligibility for federal education funding.
