The STARS Act of 2024 requires the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Secretary of State, to develop a strategy for building an integrated space and satellite security capability in the Middle East in cooperation with U.S. allies and partners, including Israel. The strategy must assess threats to space systems, describe efforts to integrate Israel into multilateral space security partnerships, identify capability gaps, and propose a multilateral data-sharing agreement and integrated security architecture. The Secretary must submit this strategy to Congress within 60 days of enactment, including cost estimates and metrics for measuring implementation progress.
