The End Polluter Welfare Act of 2024 would eliminate federal subsidies and tax benefits for fossil fuel production. The bill repeals royalty relief provisions, increases royalty rates for coal and oil/gas leases on federal lands, removes liability caps for offshore oil facilities and pipeline operators, terminates the Department of Energy's Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management, and eliminates numerous tax deductions and credits available to fossil fuel companies.
