The Atomic Supply Chain Solutions Act requires the Secretary of Energy to evaluate the U.S. nuclear supply chain within 270 days and submit findings to Congress. The evaluation must assess regulatory barriers and costs for nuclear manufacturers, analyze the necessity and impact of N-stamp (ASME Nuclear Certification) requirements, examine potential benefits of advanced manufacturing technologies, review international competitiveness and U.S.-Canada nuclear cooperation, and assess how advanced nuclear technology demand will affect the existing supply chain. The bill also establishes a policy prioritizing development of a domestic high-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU) market to strengthen energy independence and national security.
