The Educational Choice for Children Act of 2024 amends the Internal Revenue Code to create a federal tax credit for individuals who make charitable donations to nonprofit scholarship-granting organizations that provide education scholarships to low- and moderate-income elementary and secondary students. The credit allows donors to claim up to the greater of 10 percent of adjusted gross income or $5,000 per year, subject to a $5 billion annual volume cap for calendar years 2025–2028. Eligible scholarships may be used for tuition, materials, tutoring, and educational expenses at public, private, religious, or homeschools, as well as for students with disabilities.
