Summary
This bill amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to prohibit food packaging that intentionally contains PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), commonly known as 'forever chemicals.' The prohibition applies to food packaging introduced into interstate commerce and takes effect January 1, 2025. PFAS are man-made chemicals with at least one fully fluorinated carbon atom.
