Summary
This bill amends the Robert Levinson Hostage Recovery and Hostage-Taking Accountability Act to create a new designation for countries that engage in or support the wrongful or unlawful detention of U.S. nationals. Countries designated as state sponsors of wrongful or unlawful detention would face sanctions, visa restrictions on government officials, and loss of foreign assistance.
