This resolution commends and supports the name change of the USS Chancellorsville to the USS Robert Smalls in recognition of Robert Smalls' contributions to American history, including his actions during the Civil War and subsequent accomplishments as a legislator. The resolution also requests that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Department of the Navy and the commanding officers of the USS Robert Smalls.
