Summary
The Summer for All Act establishes a federal grant program to expand summer enrichment programming for youth ages 5–22. The bill creates two grant mechanisms: summer enrichment expansion grants to community-based organizations, intermediaries, and institutions of higher education to operate direct summer programs; and summer programming state grants to states and Indian tribes to plan and coordinate summer enrichment strategies. Funded programs must operate at least 5 days per week for 5 weeks during summer, provide free programming and meals to low-income youth, and include academic enrichment, social-emotional learning, health and wellness activities, and mentoring.
