The Leadership in CET Act requires the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to establish a pilot program that expedites patent examination for applications in artificial intelligence, microelectronics, and quantum information science. Eligible applicants must be U.S.-incorporated entities or U.S.-resident inventors submitting original, nonprovisional patent applications. The program will terminate after 5 years or when 10,000 applications are accepted, whichever comes first, and the Director may renew it for an additional period. The Director must publicly report on the program's progress and submit a final assessment to Congress.
