Summary
The DRAIN THE SWAMP Act requires federal executive agencies to relocate at least 30 percent of their headquarters employees to duty stations outside the Washington metropolitan area within one year of enactment. Relocated employees would have their pay adjusted to their new locality and would no longer be authorized to work full-time remotely. The bill also directs the Office of Management and Budget to reduce headquarters office space by at least 30 percent and requires agencies to report on employee distribution and telework arrangements in future budget submissions.
