This resolution condemns Azerbaijan's treatment of Dr. Gubad Ibadoghlu, urges the Department of State to continue prioritizing his well-being and release, and calls for the release of political prisoners in Azerbaijan. The resolution also condemns Azerbaijan's practice of wrongful detention and suppression of academic freedom. Dr. Ibadoghlu is an economist and academic who was arrested in Azerbaijan in July 2023.
