The VOTE Act amends the Help America Vote Act of 2002 to establish minimum notification requirements when states change voters' polling place assignments. States must notify affected voters at least 7 days before an election by mail, telephone, text message, and email, and must post notices at prior polling places and on state websites and social media. If a polling place closes, states must post signs at the former location and online listing alternative polling places. The bill applies to federal elections beginning January 1, 2026.
