Summary
The Plastic Pellet Free Waters Act requires the EPA to establish federal regulations prohibiting the discharge of plastic pellets and pre-production plastic materials into waterways from manufacturing, molding, packaging, and transport facilities. The EPA must promulgate a final rule within 60 days of enactment that applies to regulated plastic polymer and molding facilities, as well as other point sources involved in handling these materials. These prohibitions must be incorporated into all relevant wastewater, stormwater, and other permits issued under the Clean Water Act.
