During the conversation, Moskowitz discussed why he believes DHS has become too large and bureaucratic to function effectively, arguing that agencies like FEMA, TSA, and the Secret Service are increasingly being slowed down by political dysfunction and administrative red tape. “Scott, DHS has simply grown too big and too vulnerable to political dysfunction,” said Moskowitz. “When a department becomes this massive, the mission gets lost.
