    AI analysis

The representative's statement expresses support for restrictive immigration policies and border security. The bill increases criminal penalties for illegal entry and reentry, which aligns with a restrictive immigration stance. However, the vote is on an amendment rather than passage, making the substantive intent less direct. The bill's specific focus on criminal penalties for reentry (rather than broader border enforcement or entry prevention) is a narrower application of restrictive immigration policy than the statement's general framing suggests.

Proud to Support Logan's Law

Position: The representative supports Logan's Law, legislation designed to impose stricter penalties on repeat violent offenders and reduce judicial discretion in sentencing decisions for violent crimes.

Thank you to Congressman Russell Fry for leading Logan’s Law, critical legislation to crack down on violent REPEAT CRIMINALS and keep our communities safe. We will never forget Logan Federico, a beautiful young woman whose life was tragically taken by a violent offender who had been arrested 39 TIMES BEFORE. Too many families are paying the price for SOFT-ON-CRIME judges and prosecutors who continue putting dangerous criminals back on the streets. That has to end. As a father, grandfather, husband, and Representative for SC-05, protecting families and supporting law enforcement is personal to me. Logan’s Law gives our justice system stronger tools to keep violent offenders behind bars where they belong. Enough is enough. I’m proud to support this legislation.

Sharia CANNOT Exist in the United States

🚨Sharia Law CANNOT exist in the United States. I am STRONGLY against it. The Constitution is the law of the land. If you believe in freedom, equal rights, and the American legal system, this shouldn’t be controversial.

83 PERCENT of Americans Support Term Limits

Position: The representative supports a constitutional amendment to establish term limits for members of Congress, arguing that long-serving legislators should be replaced.

A new poll found 83 PERCENT of Americans support placing TERM LIMITS on members of Congress!! I am PROUD to lead a constitutional amendment to accomplish exactly that. It's past time for some of these folks to head home and live under the set of rules they created for themselves.

Fighting for SC Farmers Always

Position: The representative opposed an amendment to a farm bill that would have allowed states to set their own pesticide labeling requirements, arguing that uniform federal standards reduce costs and regulatory uncertainty for farmers.

I have always maintained an open-door policy and regularly meet with any and all Americans, but my votes are grounded in facts and what’s best for folks in South Carolina’s 5th District. I opposed Rep. Luna’s Farm bill amendment because it welcomed an unworkable patchwork of conflicting state labeling requirements. That kind of uncertainty drives up costs and makes it harder for farmers to do their jobs and for families to put food on their table. For example, a South Carolina farmer growing soybeans could be required to follow one set of pesticide labeling rules at home, but face entirely different, and potentially conflicting, requirements if they sell or ship their crops across state lines. A product approved and properly labeled under federal standards could suddenly be treated as non-compliant in another state, exposing farmers to legal risk or forcing them to change practices mid-season. To be clear: the underlying language does not create a liability shield for pesticide manufacturers, and bad actors can still be held liable and penalized. My vote was about maintaining regulatory certainty and ensuring farmers have clear, uniform guidance while the EPA continues to oversee safety and protect public health. South Carolina already has strong safeguards in place. I’ll keep fighting to make sure our farmers have the tools they need to keep food safe, affordable, and available.

HUGE WIN for SC Fishermen

Position: The representative supports increased state control over fishing regulations and reduced federal limits on red snapper fishing seasons, characterizing this as a victory for local fishermen and accountability.

In a major win for South Carolina fishermen, President Trump APPROVED new state permits for the 2026 red snapper fishing season. Earlier this year, I was proud to sign onto a letter giving South Carolina greater control over our waters, pushing back against years of federal mismanagement and bringing a more accountable, locally-driven approach to put our fishermen first. This means a LONGER fishing season for South Carolinians, North Carolinians, Georgians, and Floridians, with FEWER FEDERAL LIMITS, and expanded control over their waters. The Biden-Harris administration tried to shut down our oceans. Starting July 1st, South Carolina’s season will last 62 days. Thank you President Donald J. Trump for making this happen and putting fishers first. Time to get fishing!! 🎣
