Reschenthaler Statement on U.S. Military Strikes in Iran | U.S. Congressman Guy Reschenthaler
Position: Reschenthaler expresses strong support for U.S. military strikes against Iran in coordination with Israel, characterizing the action as necessary to counter Iranian threats to American security and allies.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) issued the following statement regarding U.S. military strikes in Iran:
“I strongly support President Trump and our nation’s warfighters as they carry out combat operations against the Iranian regime. This joint effort with Israel is essential to safeguarding American lives at home and abroad. Ayatollah Khamenei was a brutal dictator responsible for the death of thousands of innocent lives and I applaud his removal.
Since 1979, Iran has waged war against the United States. I witnessed this firsthand when I deployed to Iraq and prosecuted Iranian-backed militia groups that targeted and killed American troops during the War on Terror. Today, the regime’s nuclear ambitions, expanding ballistic missile program, and continued sponsorship of terrorism pose a direct threat to the United States and our allies.
May God bless our fallen and injured heroes, their families, and all those deployed overseas.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) released the following statement after voting to reopen the federal government:

Reschenthaler, Dean Introduce Bill to Support Law Enforcement Officers, Improve Mental Health Care | U.S. Congressman Guy Reschenthaler
Position: Representatives Reschenthaler and Dean introduced legislation to reauthorize COPS grant funding for mental health resources and suicide prevention programs for law enforcement officers through 2029, building on a 2019 law that expired.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representatives Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) and Madeleine Dean (D-PA) introduced the Supporting and Treating Officers in Crisis (STOIC) Act, which reauthorizes the use of COPS grant funding for mental health resources for law enforcement officers. This bipartisan legislation would extend the authorization through 2029.
“Law enforcement officers face unprecedented threats and mental health challenges. We must continue to support these officers and their families who serve and protect our communities,” said Rep. Reschenthaler. “In 2019, I partnered with my Pennsylvania colleague, Congresswoman Dean, to get this bill signed into law by President Trump. I’m proud to introduce this bipartisan legislation once again, which will help ensure law enforcement officers have access to critical mental health support.”
“Every day, our law enforcement shows up in times of emergency and crisis to keep our communities safe — yet these same public servants lack the resources to face the growing mental health crisis in their own field,” Rep. Dean said. “I was encouraged that funding for the STOIC Act passed into law during our first term in 2019, and I’m grateful to work with Congressman Reschenthaler once again to enact our bipartisan bill. We must support the well-being of our law enforcement professionals, as they support ours.”
Representatives Reschenthaler and Dean first introduced the STOIC Act in 2019, which expanded grant funding for law enforcement family-support services and allowed the funding to be used to establish suicide prevention programs and mental health services. President Trump signed the legislation into law in 2019, but the authorization expired last year.
Law enforcement officers are 54 percent more likely to die by suicide than the average American worker. The STOIC Act will continue to allow the U.S. Department of Justice grant funding to be used for suicide prevention programs and to support officers in times of mental health crisis.
The STOIC Act is endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Senators Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) introduced the Senate companion, S. 419, in February 2025.

Position: Reschenthaler voted to advance appropriations legislation that includes $190 million in funding for southwestern Pennsylvania inland waterways infrastructure, including construction of Montgomery Lock and Dam and maintenance on the Lower Monongahela River.
Washington, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) voted to advance the Fiscal Year 2026 Energy and Water Appropriations Bill out of the Appropriations Committee on July 17, 2025. The legislation contains $190 million, requested by Reschenthaler, to support the inland water system in southwestern Pennsylvania. The legislation now awaits action on the House floor.
“In southwestern Pennsylvania, our inland waterways and locks and dams are essential to our way of life,” said Reschenthaler. “I am proud to announce this legislation includes $190 million, which I requested, to modernize our inland water system and improve supply chain access to our rivers. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure this funding becomes law.”

Reschenthaler, Deluzio, and Joyce Introduce Legislation to Relocate Department of Energy Office to the Keystone State | U.S. Congressman Guy Reschenthaler
Position: Representatives Reschenthaler, Deluzio, and Joyce support relocating the Department of Energy's Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management from Washington, D.C. to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, arguing that proximity to fossil fuel industry workers and leaders will improve energy policy development.
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Representatives Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14), Chris Deluzio (PA-17), and John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13), introduced bipartisan legislation to relocate the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In June, Pennsylvania Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman introduced the Senate companion legislation (S. 2044).
The Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management is responsible for the development of unconventional oil and gas resources, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and the Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve. Pennsylvania is the nation’s second leading producer of natural gas, and this legislation will ensure that the DOE officials responsible for regulating the energy industry are closer to the industry leaders and workers they work with every day.
“Southwestern Pennsylvania is helping our nation unleash energy dominance,” said Rep. Guy Reschenthaler. “The coal, oil, and natural gas industries employ hundreds of thousands in Pennsylvania alone, including over 130,000 union jobs in the natural gas industry. The fossil fuel workforce of southwestern Pennsylvania should be leading and developing our nation’s energy policies, not out of touch bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. I am proud to partner with my Pennsylvania colleagues to introduce this important bill.”
“Western Pennsylvania has helped power this country for centuries,” said Rep. Chris Deluzio. “This region can and should remain at the heart of powering America and growing our economy. I’m proud to introduce this bipartisan legislation to relocate the Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management to Western PA. As we power America, we need to stay focused on lowering energy costs, creating solid jobs, growing our energy independence and resilience, and using innovative technologies to protect our air and water.”
"Pennsylvania has a rich history in energy production and innovation, fueling our nation and our allies for decades," said Rep. John Joyce, M.D. "By introducing this bipartisan legislation to move the Department of Energy's Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management to Pittsburgh, we can ensure that the Department of Energy's employees are invested in the communities their work directly impacts."
