Summary
This bill amends the Energy Policy Act of 1992 to require the Secretary of the Interior to conduct comprehensive geothermal assessments for Puerto Rico, including enhanced geothermal systems evaluations. The assessments must include high-resolution mapping, groundwater vulnerability studies (with attention to karst terrain), and seismic hazard evaluations. The Secretary must submit progress reports to Congress annually for the first year and biennially thereafter until the assessments are complete.
