Corrections

Getting the record right.

How the data is checked

  • Who is on the ballot comes from each state's certified general-election candidate list wherever we have read it, not from campaign filings alone.
  • Race results are published only after they are checked against official returns or a major news organization's call. Nothing is posted automatically from news reports.
  • Money figures come from the FEC and say which report they run through. Votes come from the official House and Senate roll calls.
  • AI-written summaries and “said vs. done” scores are labeled as AI-generated, link to their sources, and are held back when the evidence is thin.
  • Automated checks run four times a day and flag anything inconsistent for review.

Report an error

Email hello@deepsyte.app with the page, what is wrong, and a source if you have one. Candidates and campaigns are welcome to write too; we correct facts, not framing requests.

How corrections are made

Factual errors are fixed as soon as they are confirmed, at the source data, so every page that uses the figure updates together. We don't quietly rewrite history: a candidate who won a primary and later withdrew keeps the result, labeled as withdrawn.
