Summary
This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to require all immigration enforcement officers from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and authorized partners to wear and operate body cameras during public-facing immigration enforcement actions. Video footage must be retained for six months and then deleted unless it captures use of force, arrests, or complaints—or unless a longer retention period is requested by the officer, a subject, supervisors, or the public. The bill establishes compliance requirements, annual reporting to Congress on noncompliance and disciplinary actions, and creates an independent advisory panel to recommend policies on body camera use.
