Summary
This bill amends the Americans with Disabilities Act to require a 30-day notice-and-cure period before a person can file a civil action for failure to remove architectural barriers in existing public accommodations. The person alleging discrimination must provide written notice identifying the specific barrier and circumstances of denied access. The property owner or operator then has 30 days to either provide a written plan for removal or, if a plan is provided, to remove the barrier or make substantial progress toward removal. Civil actions may proceed only if the owner or operator fails to respond adequately within the specified timeframes.
