The MAIL Theft Act of 2025 directs federal agencies to develop a coordinated strategy to improve investigations of organized postal theft. Within 180 days, the Attorney General, Secretary of Homeland Security, Postmaster General, and other relevant agencies must develop a plan to enhance information sharing on postal crime networks, assist state and local law enforcement with prosecutions, and increase cooperation between federal and state/local agencies. The bill also requires a joint report to Congress on the strategy and directs the Comptroller General to publish a separate report on private sector and law enforcement coordination against organized postal crime.
