The Duplication Scoring Act of 2026 requires the Comptroller General (Government Accountability Office) to analyze bills reported by congressional committees to identify whether they create new federal programs, offices, or initiatives that would duplicate or overlap with existing federal programs previously identified in GAO duplication reports. The Comptroller General must submit findings to the Congressional Budget Office Director and the relevant committee, and publish the analysis on the GAO website. The CBO Director may include this duplication analysis as a supplement to the cost estimate for the bill.
