Summary
The bill amends the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to prohibit the Secretary of the Interior from issuing leases or other authorizations for oil and natural gas exploration, development, or production in specified areas off Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, including portions of the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, the South Atlantic Planning Area, and the Straits of Florida Planning Area. The prohibition would run from enactment through June 30, 2032. It does not affect rights under leases issued before enactment, and it includes a sense-of-Congress statement supporting a 2020 presidential memorandum withdrawing certain outer Continental Shelf areas from leasing.
