The TEAM USA Act amends the Higher Education Act to require colleges and universities receiving federal financial assistance to limit international student athletes to no more than 20 percent of varsity sports team rosters (or 1 athlete per team if the team has fewer than 10 members). Institutions must annually report the percentage of international student athletes to the Secretary of Education and their athletic association. The requirement takes effect July 1, 2029, for the 2029-2030 academic year and beyond.
