This bill prohibits the National Science Foundation from using federal funds to decommission or descope Ocean Observatories Initiative instruments located off the coasts of Oregon, Washington, Alaska, North Carolina, and in the Irminger Sea. Before any decommissioning or descoping can occur, the NSF must conduct a thorough review of the initiative and its national assets with input from scientific and coastal communities.
