Summary
The SMASH 2.0 Act reauthorizes and expands the federal Mosquito Abatement for Safety and Health program through fiscal year 2030. The bill authorizes $100 million annually for grants supporting mosquito-borne and vector-borne disease surveillance and control programs, allows consideration of innovative technologies in grant-making, and permits recipients to use up to 5 percent of funds for continuing education and training. It also directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to coordinate with the Strategic National Stockpile to prepare emergency supplies of vector-borne disease control products.
