Summary
This bill directs the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs to commission an independent review by the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine of occupational health and safety conditions at facilities associated with the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile system. The review will assess exposure to toxic substances, evaluate current surveillance and prevention policies, examine cancer incidence rates among missile personnel, and provide recommendations for improving safety conditions at both Minuteman III and the newer Sentinel missile system. A report with findings must be submitted to Congress within 18 months.
