This bill amends the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 and federal civil service leave law to explicitly clarify that organ donation surgery and recovery from such surgery qualify as a serious health condition. For private sector employees, the bill adds organ donation recovery to the definition of serious health condition under FMLA. For federal employees, it makes the same clarification and allows them to use accrued leave (under section 6327) to cover organ donation leave when possible.
