Ally's Act amends federal health insurance law to require group health plans and individual health insurance coverage to provide comprehensive coverage for hearing devices and related services for individuals with hearing loss. The bill mandates coverage of auditory implant devices (including cochlear and bone conduction implants), external sound processors, maintenance and upgrades every five years, surgery, and audiological services. Plans must apply the same cost-sharing and treatment limitations to hearing devices as they do to other medical and surgical benefits, and cannot deny coverage based on medical necessity reviews when a physician or qualified audiologist determines the devices are medically necessary.
