Summary
The PRECISE Act amends federal farm conservation programs to incentivize the adoption of precision agriculture technology and practices. It expands eligibility for conservation loans and rural development assistance to include precision agriculture adoption, defines precision agriculture and related technologies in federal law, and increases payment rates (up to 90 percent of costs) for farmers implementing precision agriculture practices through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program and Conservation Stewardship Program. The bill also requires the Department of Agriculture to inform farmers of available loan options and emphasize third-party technical assistance for soil health and precision agriculture planning.
