This bill directs the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress to establish an oral history program collecting video, audio, and written materials from individuals affected by the January 6, 2021 Capitol events, including Members of Congress, staff, law enforcement, journalists, and witnesses. The collected materials would be cataloged and made available to the public through the National Digital Library and other appropriate methods. The bill authorizes the Director to partner with other government and private entities and allows the Librarian of Congress to accept donations to support the program, with an authorization of $500,000 for fiscal year 2027 and such sums as necessary thereafter.
