Summary
This bill amends the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 to exclude cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) from Social Security, railroad retirement, and veterans' benefits from being counted as income when determining eligibility and benefit amounts for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The bill also excludes supplementary Social Security payments from income calculations. The exclusion applies through September 30 of the fiscal year in which the COLA takes effect, provided the household was already receiving SNAP benefits when the adjustment occurred.
