This bill requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to collect and disseminate information on concussion and traumatic brain injury among public safety officers. The bill directs the CDC to update its website on traumatic brain injury and develop other means to share research, evidence-based practices, personal protective equipment recommendations, and medical information with medical professionals, public safety employers, mental health professionals, patients and families, and researchers. The Secretary may also support public and private efforts to develop model guidelines and protocols for treating these injuries in public safety officers through grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements.
