This bill amends the Public Health Service Act to strengthen maternal mortality prevention efforts. It reauthorizes and expands funding for state-based maternal mortality review committees, requiring them to include obstetricians and gynecologists and to work with death certifiers to improve death record accuracy. The bill also directs the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to disseminate best practices on maternal mortality and morbidity prevention to hospitals, professional societies, and perinatal quality collaboratives at least annually. Funding is increased from $58 million annually (2019–2023) to $100 million annually (2026–2030).
